We hope to see you! We plan to offer a New Moon workshop every month going forward. Register and let us know if you want to be on our newsletter.

Second, we are excited to be working on courses for Trauma Informed Astrology. In fact, we have determined the format of the first level of certification. It is called T. I. Astrology Essentials Certification.

We have come up with the first set of three courses which will be included in the T. I. Astrology Essentials Certification. These include 1) Nervous System Foundations, 2) The Nervous System through the Lens of the Horoscope, and 3) Navigating the Healing Journey.

We are very happy to be moving forward with this awesome project!

Our plan is to have the Teachable site ready to go (so participants can start taking the first class) by mid-January of 2023. And then we will have the second class done and posted by March, etc.

October New Moon Workshop: Trauma Informed Astrology

Hello Readers and those interested in T.I. Astrology,

Emily and I are excited to offer a Two-Hour New Moon workshop on October 23rd. It will be a discussion around the New Moon in Scorpio, we will also chat a bit about Mars in Gemini (squaring Neptune / Jupiter in Pisces). And possibly even have a little time for the long-haul Saturn square Uranus aspect.

We will lead a couple of easy, yet potent somatic exercises to help us all drop into deeper embodiment – feeling more of our authentic sensations and emotions, both in the body and as a body.

And there will be time for Questions and Answers as well!

This workshop is free for all to attend. And it will be recorded – so register even if you can’t make it Sunday, we can send you a link to the recording!

When: Sunday October 23rd at 11 am Eastern time, two-hours total

Where: online (Zoom)

To register: please fill out this contact form to get the Zoom invite link

Cost: Free!

We hope to hear from you!

New Moon Gatherings to get Trauma Informed Astrology started

Hello Dear Ones,

After chewing on several options for how to get Trauma Informed Astrology off the ground (thank you for your interest over the past few months!), Emily and I have decided on doing a two-hour New Moon Gathering, where we will share some Somatic Exercises and information about the new moon in Scorpio. And we will have time for questions about T.I. Astrology.

This will be a free session, online on Zoom. The plan is to do several of these – one in November, another in January. The New Moon in December is very close to the holidays in the U.S., so we will see if we want to have more spaciousness that month.

Then we will start some courses in the new year – by early 2023.

We will announce the October date soon. Most likely during the weekend of the 22nd / 23rd.

Let us know if you have questions or to express interest.

Astrological Mentoring, Interpretations, 25-min free consults available

Hello Dear Ones,

As we continue to plan what Trauma Informed Astrology classes to teach and when (thanks for your patience!), I just want to put out there that I am having a lot of success with mentoring astrologers. When it comes to questions about the nervous system, what are some techniques I can use with a challenging client situation, shedding more light on birth process work (how are early developmental challenges affecting my client?) etc, that is where my background comes in very handy. Plus, if astrologers want to work on their own “stuff” as it were – I am happy to support your nervous system, to support you with process work, and to help you weave nervous system elements into greater astrological insight and awareness.

Let me know if you want to schedule a free 25-min consultation to see if working together is a good fit. This is a conversation about your intentions and a little about your history. We would discuss more astrology in a future appt if you want to work with me. You can schedule here: https://wisdomhealingtherapies.schedulista.com/

And I also have some Monday afternoons and occasional Saturday appts available (Eastern time).

I hope to hear from you soon! And may our transition into fall be easy and graceful.

“Seeds of Resilience” – A Somatic Approach to Trauma Informed Astrology

Hello Readers,

I have been busy with bodywork, leading Somatics classes, and enjoying a couple weeks of vacation the past two months. It has been just what my nervous system needs – a rejuvenating blend of spacious self-care and sharing healing wisdom. I am very grateful to be able to benefit others (and I continue to learn and grow as I offer emotional-process-oriented bodywork!).

I love the embodiment side of nervous system repair. The body has all the answers (or at least many more than the controlling left-brain thinks it has). And we can learn how to playfully and skillfully come down out of our heads and into the compassion of our hearts and the potency of our pelvis. In fact, if we get all three centers in alignment – head, heart, and pelvis, then that is a fine thing indeed!

Hence the title above. I am yearning to lead a workshop incorporating Somatic Techniques and Exercises to Move Toward Well-being. We will still discuss how each exercise is better suited for different Astrology signs and aspects, so participants will get a lot out of this class – both deepened awareness in the body and some didactic astrological learning as well.

Come down out of your head.

Lean into “Less is Better than More.”

Breath in playful easy spaciousness.

Experience how “the Slower we go, the Faster we will get there.”

Be surrounded by good company.

Learn what it means when we say, “More ground, less effort”.

More to follow soon!

Thank you for joining us on this journey!

Hiking through a sea of ferns

Day Two up here at the Dharma center in Maryland.

Today, we did Green Tara practice. It was a beautiful text from the Marpa tradition – the Udumwara Sadhana. I am used to doing a short Tara practice, this text was a bit longer and it also included the Praise to the 21 Taras, which is very pleasant. For whatever reason, it seemed like we were in a time warp. It was nice, but if you told me we did the mantra and prayers for eight hours, I would believe you. As it was, more like two hours elapsed.

Then we had lunch at the Clay Oven, a Tibetan lama favorite. Delicious Indian food. It was nice to share that with friends.

Then rest in the afternoon, taking it easy. Followed by a gorgeous hike through the woods of the Catoctin Mountains of Maryland. On the yellow trail hike, I was pleasantly surprised to discover several dozen paw paw trees! If we go back there in late August, there will definitely be some fruit.

From years past, I was already aware of the sea of ferns and the oceans of a small-yucca-looking plant with a stalk with white flowers. It is similar to the foam flower. Also from years past, I was aware of overlooks from the trail where one can look down over Frederick. But we would have had to hike another two miles (meaning four more miles round trip) and we ran out of time. We got good exercise as it was, hiking four miles round trip over rocky, hilly terrain.

It was a very pleasant day. Glad to be up here among good teachers and good company.

Back at the Dharma Center, brief reprieve

Hello Dear Readers,

I am back at the Tibetan Meditation Center in Maryland. Just taking a short break, enjoying good company with friends and the lamas up here – Khenpo Tsultrim and Lama Rigdzin. They are very generous – they are treating me like an honored guest. Of course I am happy to offer them bodywork and chip in around the center or helping to clean up the kitchen. I think they enjoy having visitors (obviously!).

Stupa in the Mist.

Teachings on Green Tara today. Green Tara practice tomorrow, visiting with friends. Then on Monday the plan is to go to a nearby state park that has a lake for a picnic and swimming. [As an aside… This will be even more special for me because the local swimming lake near me couldn’t hire enough life guards and had to close. So it is chlorinated swimming pools or a long drive to a different lake for summer-time swimming.]

Here are some pictures from this first day: (it was rainy and foggy all morning, making for a magical, fairy-tale-like setting around the center.)

It is a three-hour drive from Charlottesville to Frederick, Maryland, and then another 20 – 30 mins up the small mountain to the Dharma Center. A relatively easy trek to encounter precious teachings and teachers.

Memorial Wall at TMC

I love the lush (very green) woods around here. Because it is up on the hill, it seems to get more rain than down in Frederick.

Amitabha Buddha statue in Memorial Wall at TMC

This is the Amitabha statue that was recently consecrated in June. Helping all sentient beings have easy transitions at the time of death (hopefully)!

Thanks for visiting!
