Vital steps on the path of healing facilitation

Hello Dear Ones,

A friend recently asked, about my work, “What do you do?”

And I responded, “Well, I am surprised by how much happens, the less I do.” This just came out spontaneously.

I could not be happier with this response. It implies that there is more being, and less doing. Hopefully I am embodying the statement, “the slower we go, the faster we will get there.”

I love the work I “do” – nervous system repair, trauma resolution, embodiment coaching, holding sacred space, birth process work and early developmental resourcing. Plus I blend all of this with Western Astrology, creating a unique blend that I call Trauma Informed Astrology. You can see more at the site: http://www.traumainformedastrology.com

When I listen to a client’s nervous system (making contact pretty much anywhere on their body – usually starting with shoulder and a knee), I am in big spacious presence. I don’t have an agenda, or not much of one. We are primarily working with the client’s intention – which we might spend 5 or 10 minutes refining and clarifying. Energy follows intention, so we keep coming back to that resource.

Whether we do Craniosacral Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Integral Somatic Psychology (deepening emotional embodiment) or another modality, I always try to listen with my light body. To offer huge spaciousness and well-wishing. And resting in organic healing rhythms. Which in this day and age, is remarkably rare.

Just to feel seen, and heard, and met is big. Regulated, settled, therapeutic presence is not easy to come by. Realizing that the client, no matter what storminess or waves are on the surface, has a huge ocean of innate health within them, is vital. It is my intention to lean into Source connection as I silently invite them to do the same, even as we might be doing specific interventions to move energy and emotion and journey toward their smaller doable-today-intention.

The beauty of this “work” is that it can be done over long distance. We can still feel and appreciate being seen, even over Zoom. Considering I have been practicing Craniosacral Therapy since 2005, I can even include some of those techniques over distance.

Your body wants to heal. Energy and emotion want to move – we just have to notice and dissolve the defenses and resistance to doing so. We are not our restless mind. We are not our overwhelming stress. We are not the chronic tension in our shoulders or neck. We are so much more than this. We yearn for freedom and joy. And working with a competent healing facilitator is very beneficial for moving through stuck or confusing spaces, to get to greater spaciousness, energy flow, groundedness.

If we make the intention, within or without, to truly move toward well-being, we will start to make changes in our lives. And not just an-hour-a-day-move-toward-well-being, but I want to actually get healthy. This means I am committed to listening to and honoring my body and its needs. And letting go of what no longer serves me.

I have been on this path since 2005. It has been an extraordinarily rewarding, not always easy 17 years. I am so glad that I have made the commitment to move toward health and well-being on a daily basis. Getting there takes time! And I am human, I make mistakes, I don’t have all the answers. Occasionally, I take a little step backwards. Thankfully, I am more kind to myself today. So when I am ready, I can easily take two steps forward and continue benefiting people. In spite of this potent sounding message, I also try to remain humble and down-to-earth.

Wisdom is in the body. It is not merely in the mind. Unlocking our potent reservoir of inherent wisdom and healing is possible (at least for the vast majority of us). Do you want to just be less miserable? Or do you want to move toward greater freedom and spaciousness and spontaneity?

Let me know if you want to join me on this path of radical kindness and tenderness toward self. Of self-compassion, forgiveness and strengthening connections to Source.

I don’t just want you to feel better, I want you to get better.
