I am very excited to be leading this course in the fall. In this Mystery School level course, we will go deep into each sign and planet. We will look at the personality level, the soul level and Source level awareness – going far beyond “pop astrology” definitions and sign traits. It will be a fresh take on the elements, from an esoteric and spiritual astrology perspective. There will be lots of time for questions and answers and rich discussion.
Due to the rich material, and the depth, this course requires an application. This journey of initiation will benefit all levels of astrologers. Complete beginners are welcome – what is required is having done some honest inner work. I want participants to be able to sit with not knowing and possible discomfort without being destabilized. I will provide a 12-page prep guide (for each part) that will allow participants to review if they don’t have a lot of astrological language / experience.

The zodiac is not merely a map of the sky. It is a map of
the soul’s path — an initiatory structure, sign by sign,
layer by layer, toward awakening.
This six-session, 18-hour in-person course moves through all twelve signs and their planets across three distinct layers of meaning that traces a single arc from personality through soul- level work and into Source-level awareness. The zodiac here is the outer shell of an inner journey.
When: TBD – In-person course (Central Virginia location), likely Friday afternoons – 2 – 5 pm. However, when you apply, you can let me know your availability and we might be able to accommodate your schedule.
Online Version of the Course:
I will break this course up into two parts. Part One will be 6 weeks long – six 90-min zoom sessions covering Aries – Virgo. Part Two will be similar, six 90-min zoom sessions for 6 weeks, wrapping up the Zodiac through Pisces.
Part One will start in early – mid September. Part Two would start in November.
I am imagining this course (both parts) will be on a weekday evening. But do let me know if you are interested – there is a scheduling question in the application and if enough people are interested, I can do a Saturday morning or other time.
Cost: In-person course (18 hours, six 3-hour sessions) $900
In-person course limited to 12 participants max.
Online Version Cost: $450 for Part One if we have 6 – 12 participants, $300 if we have 13 – 20 participants. Same price points for Part Two.
Online Course: Group size will be limited to 20 people max. If we get more than 9 participants, I will have a competent assistant holding space so we can go deeper.
About each session:
Each session opens with a guided somatic practice matched to that session’s theme. Going deep often means going slow. We will listen to our inner rhythms. This is not a survey of astrology. It is an initiatory path. We will hold the material carefully, allowing time and space for the material to metabolize.
Influence & Lineage
The three-layer framework draws directly on Alice Bailey’s esoteric astrology, particularly her esoteric and hierarchical rulership assignments, and on Isabel Hickey’s spiritual astrology. Both authors treated the chart not as a personality profile but as a record of the soul’s path. Kirby has studied, practiced, and extended their work through his own contemplative practice in the Drikung Kagyu Vajrayana Buddhist lineage and through over two decades of somatic clinical work. Optional supplemental reading will be shared with registered participants for anyone wishing to go deeper alongside the course.

An application is required for this course. Applications include a few short narrative questions about your inner-work background, your availability, and what draws you to this material currently. Depending on your answers and if you feel unsure about whether this is a good fit, we can schedule a 10-min zoom call.

Complete beginners to astrology are welcome as every concept is built from the
ground up. Prior inner work is required: therapy, somatic practice, contemplative
practice, or equivalent. This course is not suited to those in acute crisis, or to those
seeking a first introduction to self-reflective work.
